ABout John Matar
John Matar has built his career on service, discipline, and leadership. A combat veteran of the United States Army, Matar enlisted in May 2008 as an Infantryman (MOS 11B). During his military tenure, he served honorably at Fort Benning, Georgia; Fort Bragg, North Carolina; Fort Carson, Colorado; and Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. His 15-month deployment during Operation Enduring Freedom (2010–2011) placed him along the Pakistan border at the height of the Arab Spring, where he exemplified courage, teamwork, and steadfast dedication to mission and country.
Following his military service, Matar continued his commitment to public safety through a tenure with the Springdale Police Department (2016–2018), where he applied his discipline and situational leadership to protect and serve the people of Northwest Arkansas.
Building on his field experience and a lifelong commitment to excellence, Matar earned a degree in Criminal Justice from Southern Arkansas Tech. He is currently completing his Master’s degree at Midwestern Seminary and intends to pursue a Doctorate in Christian Education, combining his leadership experience with his desire to mentor and teach future generations.
In 2018, Matar launched the J.B. Hunt Government Services branch, where he played a pivotal role in connecting logistics expertise with public-sector needs. His work in logistics has honed his abilities in efficiency, operational planning, and resource management—skills he plans to bring to his service on the Benton County Quorum Court.
Through every phase of his career, John Matar has embodied service-driven leadership: disciplined in action, humble in approach, and guided by a faith-anchored sense of responsibility to his community and his country.
